Abstract :
[en] This work presents a longitudinal exploratory research (over 10 months) which studies the acoustical parameters variations of the breaking voice and more precisely the pitch and the voice timbre modification. Our occasional sample is formed of three french speaking belgian boys which were 13, 14 and 15 years old at the beginning of the data collection. The subjects were asked to utter both a phonetically balanced text and sustained oral vowels. The acoustical characteristics of the so-obtained speech samples were studied by means of phonetograms and long term average spectra (LTAS). For both acoustical techniques, quantitative processes were used to assess the amount of variation under the effect of 'voice breaking'.
