Abstract :
[en] Bumblebees are the most important group of pollinators in mountain ecosystems. However, factors driving their diversity are poorly understood. We investigated bumblebees diversity in the Pyrenees National Park (France) as model of likely diverse community. Intensive inventories were carried out in July-August 2002, 2003 and 2005, which allowed the observation of 5.889 specimens belonging to 29 bumblebee species. Considering the literature of the last fi fty years, the specifi c diversity of the park reaches 30 bumblebee species. This specifi c diversity is remarkable and similar to other Pyrenean sectors like Eyne or Nohèdes valleys (Pyrénées-Orientales). The weak difference of diversity observed among the Park, the Eyne valley and the Nohèdes valley suggests that the bumblebee fauna of the all Pyrenees is exceptionally diversifi ed.
