[en] This work is part of a project that aims to develop piezoelectric glass-ceramics by controlled crystallisation of piezoelectric non ferroelectric fresnoite (Sr2TiSi2O8) crystals within a suitable glass composition. At this stage of the research the glass ceramics have been synthesised successfully. However, the differences in thermal expansion coefficients between the fresnoite crystals and the surrounding glass matrix appears as a problem as induces internal stresses during cooling that may reduce the piezoelectric performances of the material and possibly create microcracks. In order to investigate these potential damages, three glass ceramic compositions are characterized by acoustic emission during thermal cycles, High Temperature XRD and dilatometry.
