The institutional repository ORBi UMONS is now harvested by OpenAIRE, the European infrastructure supporting open science and open access to research results. Publications deposited in ORBi are therefore automatically referenced in OpenAIRE’s discovery and monitoring services.
This inclusion significantly enhances the international visibility and discoverability of UMONS research outputs, particularly open access content, which becomes more easily accessible through European and global research platforms.
To fully benefit from this increased dissemination, the quality of deposits in ORBi is crucial. Complete and accurate metadata (authors, affiliations, identifiers, funding information, document type, open access status) enable reliable harvesting and correct indexing by OpenAIRE. Well-documented deposits directly contribute to better visibility, reuse and impact of research outputs.
This development reinforces UMONS’s commitment to open science and highlights the importance of good deposit practices to maximise the reach and long-term value of its research.
