[en] For every rock engineering project, the mechanical behaviour of rocks need to be known. In
this study, five rock properties were targetted to describe the rock behaviour upto the failure phase : uniaxial
compressive strength, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, internal friction angle and dilatancy angle. Using
the indentation test, a correlation approach already exists to estimate the uniaxial compressive strength
(Tshibangu et al. 1999) and this paper tries to simulate the stress-strain curve of an uniaxial test, using a new correlation between the Young's modulus and the elastic parameter. Moreover, a finite element modelling of the indentation process allowed a better understanding of the phenomenon.
