Abstract :
[en] In this work, we introduce a new concept for an in-line optical fiber temperature and force sensor, which are based on two cascaded Fabry-Perot cavities and the Vernier effect. The sensing cavity is composed of the UV glue, while the reference cavity is composed of the silica fiber. Due to the high thermo-optic coefficient and low Young's modulus of the UV glue in the sensing cavity, this sensor can be used for temperature and force measurements. The obtained temperature and force sensitivity are 8.0 nm/℃ and ‒5.44×104 nm/N, respectively.
