Abstract :
[en] The optical and electronical properties of nanoparticles (NPs) are influenced by the shape and the size of the NPs and differ from those of the corresponding bulk material. The Ag (Au) seeds were prepared by chemical reduction of AgNO3 (HAuCl4) with NaBH4. In presence of seeds, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and NaOH, the silver (gold) salt was reduced to obtain nanorods. By changing the relative amount of NaOH, it's possible to move from nanorods to nanowires and have a large spectrum of colour. This is a simple method to prepare shaped rods and wires with high aspect ratio.
