Abstract :
[en] A true triaxial testing device has been developed in the nineties in the mining department of the Faculty of Engineering, Mons-Belgium. Since then data have been gathered from several rocks, among which various carbonated rocks exhibiting different mechanical behaviours. In this work, we compare the behaviour of three limestones: a compact and strong one (Soignies limestone, UCS = 100-120 MPa), a compact one with medium strength (Moca limestone, UCS = 60 MPa) and a soft and porous one (Sorcy limestone, UCS = 40 MPa). Experimental data are analyzed in terms of evolution of the behaviour and of limiting envelopes.
