Abstract :
[en] The Bologna Process raised awareness of higher education about the skills-based approach. The assessment and recognition of both disciplinary knowledge and skills as well as so-called "transversal" skills have become real challenges for higher education institutions. Faced with the complexity of assessing skills, especially transversal skills, higher education tries to identify new solutions. This article proposes to review the implementation, within a first year of a bachelor's degree in education, of a new digital tool, called open-badge, as part of a system aimed at promoting, evaluating and recognize many transversal skills considered essential for success in higher education. Using a quantitative methodology, our study aims to review students' interest in such a digital tool, but also to question its equity. Our results show that different individual characteristics, such as the level of self-determination of students, their academic performance or their level of digital skills influence their decision to engage in a device offering open-badges but also influence the number of digital badges they will get.
