[en] Tthe social impact of microfinance is a much more complex topic than what is sometimes presented, which is why this chapter tries to give a more systemic approach to what it is. The objective is not to say “microfinance is good or is bad” but to show the various influences it has had and still has in many societies. This chapter provides a systemic approach to the different ways of considering the issue of social impact in microfinance from economic, financial, and sociological perspectives.
