Abstract :
[en] This chapter provides a measured analysis of how AI is being integrated into medical practice, focusing on its practical applications and the challenges it presents. It starts with a historical approach to AI, it examines specific AI technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing, in areas like diagnostic support, medical imaging, and personalized treatment planning. The chapter uses case studies and current research to present a realistic assessment of AI's capabilities and limitations in medical practice, highlighting areas where AI can assist in routine tasks, as well as where its use requires caution. It also explores the need on including AI education in medical school curricula.
