[en] The recent advances in science and technology and the ongoing processes of internationalization and globalization in all spheres of professional activities have reshaped interlingual communication and intercultural mediation and adapted them to the requirements of modern communication scenarios. The boundaries between translation - in its widest sense, including communication and mediation - and other disciplines have become blurred; with the new millennium, we have witnessed the emergence and development of new forms, including media interpreting, free commentary, audiodescription, live subtitling, written interpretation, theatre or opera translation, all forms of localization, hyper-text and hyper-media translation, to name just a few (Gerzymisch-Arbogast, 2005). At the same time, interlingual and intercultural mediators switched from using pen and paper to using more sophisticated technological mediation tools for accessibility.
