[en] In this investigation, the effect of an isothermal heat treatments at 300 °C on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the welded pipeline A970 duplex stainless steel have been studied by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis, X-ray diffraction, and hardness measurements. It was found that the fusion zone is different from the heat affected zone and also from the base metal. The quantity of the ferritic phase decreased in the melting zone and was partially restored after the heat treatment, which has an influence on the hardness of the melting zone.
